Martin Luther King Jr. (Weekend Post)

In the life of Martin Luther King, we celebrate his life and all he has done to help blacks be treated equally. He was a pastor and a pacifist, which means he disliked war and conflict. He helped fight to end the cause of segregation in the United States along with other leaders like Malcolm X of Rosa Parks. He even delivered famous messages such as "The Other America" or "I Have A Dream," which also helped his point get across. Unfortunately, he died on April 4th, 1968, but his legacy lives on with us today, through an African American president, President Barack Obama. Finally, we are introduced to an era of redemption after all this segregation has taken place. Now, we as African Americans can say "Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, we're free at last.
