This holiday is for the commemoration of the Mexican Army beating the French in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. This holiday is most celebrated in Puebla, Mexico, but as we all know, this is a holiday that is celebrated by many countries around the world. However, many people strongly believe that this is their independence day even though technically it is on September 16. This holiday is taken very seriously in Mexico and on May 5th, this many people get into dresses and have parades based on this vicious war of Puebla.
