Ferragosto (Assumption Day) is a Italian holiday/festival that is celebrated on August 15th. The Roman Catholic church created this holiday, but Italy took on this holiday, which is celebrated for the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary. Now, this is a national holiday that is celebrated every year by all of Italy, because this is their national holiday. This holiday is extremely festive and families gather around for this amazing event, and different businesses close for this holiday.
